    We are currently recruiting for a Lead Accounts Payable Auditor to join our Finance Department, based in Freeport, ME. This individual will assume responsibility for directing Accounts Payable processing to ensure that processes are well controlled, invoices, are entered timely/accurately and vendors are paid timely/accurately. 

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure timely/accurate processing of invoices, per policy
    • Manage electronic invoice interfaces (EDI), including error resolution
    • Manage 3-way match process and exception follow-up to ensure that the Company only pays for goods/services received based on costs per Purchase Orders
    • Oversee vendor payment processing
    • Prepare month-end journal entries as needed
    • Prepare ad hoc analyses as needed
    • Ensure that Accounts Payable process controls are consistently followed
    • Apply company policies and procedures to work situations to protect company resources
    • People leadership responsibilities:
      • Workflow planning
      • Communication around company/department policies
      • Coaching, employee development and performance management
    • Communicate with vendors and internal business area contacts as needed to resolve issues
    • Accounts Payable system testing to support system changes

     

    Health and Safety Requirement: Ensure compliance with the L.L.Bean comprehensive Health and Safety program by knowing and following all safety guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations. Take immediate and appropriate action to rectify any unsafe conditions. Ensure compliance of front line employees with comprehensive Health and Safety program.

    Qualifications

    • Highly organized and pro-active in finding (sometimes creative) solutions to issues
    • Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate employees
    • Capability to build strong partnerships and to work collaboratively to achieve goals
    • Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
    • Experience using SAP or similar large-scale integrated financial system
    • A background in Accounting preferred

    Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent    

    Experience: 1 to 2 years
