    As a participant in our Summer Internship Program, you’ll be fully immersed in the business and culture of L.L.Bean, including what it means to Be an Outsider. Over the course of 12 weeks, you’ll produce meaningful work that directly impacts our company, gain exposure to senior leaders, be mentored by experts in the retail business, go on outdoor adventures with your fellow interns, and so much more.

    This is a paid position that typically begins in May or June. All of our internships take place at our Flagship/Corporate campuses in Freeport, Maine.

    In addition, as an intern you will be given specific projects to complete throughout the summer within your department and the results of your projects will have a direct impact on our company. Here’s a sample of some of the recent projects our interns have worked on:

    • Update and enhance tools used to forecast inventory levels during promotional events
    • Assist on video and catalog shoots
    • Present customer acquisition tactics research and recommendations
    • Enhance the customer experience and engagement with our brand
    • Travel with the Experiential Marketing team to present “Bean Outsider at Work”
    • Write content for our website, catalog, and social posts
    • Analyze performance trends, customer demand, and price point to help determine assortment lines
    • Dive into Paid Search analytics
    • Assist in re-designing the Gortex Bean Boot
    • Assist and drive Java backend development projects
    • Design and develop specific branded materials for our Student Ambassador program
    • Assist with running the Yoga in the Park spa experience and Summer in the Park concert series

     

    Health and Safety Requirement: Ensures compliance with the L.L.Bean comprehensive Health and Safety program by knowing and following all safety guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations. Takes immediate and appropriate action to rectify any unsafe conditions.

    Qualifications

    • Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year college or university degree program
    • Strong preference will be given to rising Juniors and Seniors as well as Seniors graduating in the Winter/Spring of 2019
    • Passion for the outdoors and L.L.Bean’s core activities
    • Have proven leadership skills, with the ability to develop and motivate others
    • Capability to build strong partnerships and to work collaboratively to achieve goals
    • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to maintain a high level of enthusiasm, motivation and a positive attitude
    • Established time management and organization skills
    • Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
    • Ideally has long-term interest in the outdoor apparel and gear industry
    • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
    • Must be able to find personal housing accommodations within a commutable distance to Freeport, ME (housing leads and referrals will be provided)
    • Must have reliable transportation for the duration of the internship
