    We are looking to add a Forecasting & Operations Analyst to join our team at our Order Fulfillment Center in Freeport, Maine.  The successful candidate will be responsible for driving significant operational improvements that result in improved customer service and productivity at the Order Fulfillment Center.  The key responsibility is to bring LL Bean’s Fulfillment Operation to industry best standards using analytics, process modeling, project implementations, and decision making.

    Responsibilities

    • Forecasting for the OFC and L.L. Bean’s Returns Center. Responsibility for accurately projecting demand requirements and the workforce plan to support those requirements.
    • Capacity Planning. Create and adapt sophisticated capacity models to drive increased throughput at the Order Fulfillment Center and our Returns facility. Responsibility for creating models by partnering with Operations Managers and making key decisions to ensure capacity is flexible to meet variable customer demand.
    • Operation Management. As the plans that have been developed are put into action by a team of specialists, responsibilities include adjusting the plan and making in-the-day decisions to ensure production targets are met. Identification of process improvements and strategies that result in a more efficient and safe operation will be critical. Any decisions that are made will determine how work is processed and how efficiently the Order Fulfillment Center performs.
    • Peak Planning. Responsibility for the creation of hiring plans that are aligned with equipment capacity and support Marketing’s demand plan for Peak Holiday Season.

    To succeed in this position, one must be highly engaged with Operations Managers, a great communicator of changes and strategy, and data-driven. Utilizing Manhattan and other systems will allow implementation of solutions that are sustainable and scalable. For the right candidate, this position offers opportunity to drive significant improvements in a large-scale Fulfillment Operation.

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS required
    • 3-5 years of relevant experience required
    • Advanced Excel skills required
    • Experience with SQL, Cognos, SCI (Supply Chain Intelligence) and SSRS preferred
    • History of progressive analytical experience
    • Demonstrated expertise in applying analytical techniques and tools and statistical modeling methods
    • Proven problem-solving skills
    • Production and results oriented
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Self-motivated
