    L.L.Bean's Flagship Store in Freeport Maine is currently seeking a Store Operations Coordinator. The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to administer operational programs in all stores. They will maintain and develop tools and resources that stores use for daily operations and will facilitate the collection of process steps and expectations then drafting, field testing and scheduling all SOP releases to stores. Additionally, they will monitor trends and facilitate the reporting for operational measures.


    • Owns current operations program administration and oversight to include supply catalog, store rep recognition, purchasing cards and operational postings. Responsible for process improvement and day to day decision making.
    • Owns the accuracy of store operational resources and tools that are used for store task planning, which includes delivery schedules, operational task detail in the payroll planning tool and compliance reporting.
    • Own Store Operations content maintenance and development including standard operating procedures, manuals and job aids.
    • Operational content collection and delivery to support ongoing education initiatives, morning meetings, communication tools, leadership conferences and seasonal manuals.
    • Owner of the Store Operations support line and generic email address.  Responsible for the proper delegation of store need, escalation and store follow-up to resolution.
    • New store opening organization and logistical support for travel and non-product.
    • Supports Store Operations initiatives and projects as needed.
    • Supports store inventory movement, inventory accuracy, and store physical inventory processes. Acting as a liaison between inventory accuracy and stores.
    • Back-up support for Intranet postings, general communications, and systems testing and administration.
    • Maintain current operating manuals, updating content as necessary. 

    Health and Safety Requirement: Ensures compliance with the L.L.Bean comprehensive Health and Safety program by knowing and following all safety guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations. Takes immediate and appropriate action to rectify any unsafe conditions. Ensures compliance of front line employees with comprehensive Health and Safety program.


    • Excellent understanding of retail operations and familiarity with business objectives
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills / technical writing experience desired
    • Detail oriented and driven to find operational efficiencies
    • General business and process curiosity with strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Sound business judgment with general understanding of financial reporting including P&L
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
    • Self-starter; highly motivated with a keen sense of urgency
    • Ability to schedule and prioritize workload effectively
    • Excellent PC Skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Strong Systems Skills including inventory management systems
    • Recent store experience at the lead level or above desired
    • Coordinate and work on a wide variety of tasks for the department (seasonal projects, special events and meetings)
    • Function as back-up to support department when members travel or take time off
    • Interacts and partners with Home Office departments on store-related tasks as an advocate to the stores

    Education Level: B.S. or B.A. preferred

    Experience Level: 2 to 3 years
