    L.L.Bean is seeking a Sr. Internal Auditor to support our Internal Audit group in beautiful Freeport, Maine. In this position you will independently plan, organize, conduct and formally report on complex audit assignments as well as assist management in developing and maintaining an effective internal control environment.


    1. Execute concurrent audits and tests of internal controls with limited supervision
      • Conduct effective audit planning - develop preliminary scope and objectives, develop time budget and audit program, identify potential audit risks and meet with client to review the process
      • Develop clear, concise and organized workpapers ensuring that all required documentation is completed and that conclusions are well documented and supported by the audit procedures performed
      • Ensure communication is maintained with client areas throughout the duration of an audit and that observations are presented to the client as they are identified
      • Develop recommendations to address control weaknesses or process inefficiencies, ensuring that each recommendation is aligned with and supported by the level of risk identified
      • Provide support to the client area as they develop action plans to address audit recommendations
      • Prepare a professional and well-documented audit report at the end of every audit engagement
      • Follow up on open audit recommendations, ensuring that management action plans are implemented in a timely manner
    2. Provide risk and control consulting to business partners as the subject matter expert on implementations and other relevant projects
    3. Provide planning and testing support for the annual external audit
    4. Assist in the identification and prioritization of audit risk areas during the development of the annual audit plan
    5. Develop and maintain business relationships with leadership in assigned service units and/or business units. Independently manage workload and provide regular updates on progress against plan
    6. Assume additional related responsibilities as requested

    • BS/BA in Management, Accounting, Finance, IT, or another related field; or equivalent
    • 5-7 years of audit and financial experience
    • Certification: CPA or CIA
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent computer skills. SAP, Manhattan, Workday, ACL, SQL experience is preferred
    • Strong business acumen and ability to navigate complex concepts showing professional curiosity
