L.L.Bean is currently seeking a Technical Design Coordinator to support department leadership and technical designers during the development and commercialization processes.  Duties include the input and updating of product specifications accurately into design/development system through commercialization process and coordination management of samples including but not limited to labeling, measuring and system tracking and liquidating.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in documenting and tracking garment specifications (quality, fit, construction) in design/development software throughout the commercialization process, as per established process.
  • Set up initial specifications in system.  Assign style and size range category.  Input initial construction information from current development spec.
  • Maintain specifications in systems by updating size ranges, specs and construction information as directed by Technical Designer.
  • Maintain integrity of data within design/development system utilizing established processes and formats to ensure consistency. Understand fit buckets and comply with standards established for each fit bucket.
  • Partner with team to ensure corporate timelines are met.

 

  1. Assist in management of product samples.
  • Assist in the sample management process including digitizing pattern tracings into the Gerber system, import and export zip files and help maintain the block library for all categories.
  • Label, measure and log incoming fit samples into tracking system. Prepare samples for fit sessions and take notes in sessions.
  • Set up and maintain tracking sheets for data analysis of fit samples.
  • Request competitor fit samples and complete fit analysis chart for comparison by commercialization staff.
  • Pull items from stock, completes request to transfer form, tracks security pick up and return.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers.

 

  1. Assist in scheduling, preparing product and materials for presentation sessions with appropriate teams.
  • Order samples from stock and competitor samples as directed.
  • Coordinate scheduling and planning of presentations with teams attending session.
  • Collect data from presentations and input into requested format.
  • Download and format digital photos into Excel spreadsheet.

 

  1. Compile, track and summarize data for return rate in all product categories for analysis by technical design staff.

 

  1. Participate in special projects as assigned.

 

Health and Safety Requirement: Ensures compliance with the L.L.Bean comprehensive Health and Safety program by knowing and following all safety guidelines, policies, procedures and expectations. Takes immediate and appropriate action to rectify any unsafe conditions.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required

 

  • Basic understanding of apparel or accessory garment construction, terminology and fit
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent computer skills including CAD or PDM (Product Data Management), Power Point, Adobe and Excel
  • Strong technical drawing skills using Adobe Illustrator
  • Good understanding of the L.L. Bean customer
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to lift/carry 20lbs. on a regular basis
